Day 9 - 1,000 miles cycling across France πŸ‡«πŸ‡· + Spain πŸ‡ͺπŸ‡Έ

Almost 10 days on the road so far. The time passes by all too quickly. I find myself mesmerised by the sky and it’s blueness, the contrasting white clouds and the green trees that surround me.

Life becomes simpler each day that passes. The importance of finding somewhere to sleep and the place from which I can purchase food to eat have become my main objectives.

The distance from people and society bring you closer to yourself and connection with the world around you.

I wake at 7:18 am, The competitive side of me tells me to get up and pack away my things as last night Dominic had mentioned he is an early riser and therefore I assumed he would be up and packed before me. So I arose and began the deconstruction of my tent.

It turns out he was staying put for the day with his little four-legged carnivore friend bubblegum. So I departed my newly found friend and wished him good luck in all that he endeavours.

The brief encounters we have in life when on the road are so meaningful but short lived as we move on with our journey.

I then decided the ocean to my right needed my attention. She called me like a long yearning both of us needing to reacquaint but it had been so long. I am dressed down to my black shorts and went in. She touched me all over and I was shy but once I drop down And she came above my shoulders and onto the chin once again I was at home and comfortable.

I continued my cycle until the entice of her is too strong and again I went and was comforted by her embrace. Then I sat on the beach upon my chair and dozed for one hour not actually sleeping but at the same time having the deepest sleep I’ve had in years.

After this I continued with my journey. I’m now at a campsite surrounded by hundreds of other campers. The price here was €21 over triple the price of some of the other smaller more pleasant places I’ve been it was my only choice as the next campsite was too far and the Sun had dropped low in the sky enough to be almost touching the Earth.
