Hanging out with Ultra running friends

Paul’s Western states 100 mile belt buckle

Paul’s Western states 100 mile belt buckle

Last night a good friend named David Ross introduced me to a very cool chap named Paul Reader. A tall fellow with the gleam of adventure in his eyes, Paul stands out from the crowd.

We started off sharing a few beers from a mammoth beer keg David had brought along. Stories of Ultra adventures were flowing, everybody was having a good time.

We went to a restaurant named Bills. The atmosphere was pleasant and staff attentive. We drank beers from Greenwich Brewery and ate good hearty food.

After the meal we returned to Paul’s where I felt tired. But as soon as the film the Barkley marathon was played I lost my tiredness and sat around laughing at the insanity of what was unfolding on screen.

Eventually Dave caught a taxi home and I went to slept in the spare bed. The next day Paul and I grabbed a coffee and reflected over the fun evening we’d had.

Before I left I took a photo of Pauls Western States belt buckle.
