Day 6 - 1,000 miles cycling across France πŸ‡«πŸ‡· + Spain πŸ‡ͺπŸ‡Έ

I received an email yesterday morning telling me I have been moved off the wait list and now have a place (if I want) in the bear 100 mile ultra in America.

I have 24 hours to accept or decline. It’s a dream 100 mile ultra for me. For years I have wanted to run this race. I just got the final email tonight to accept or decline. I would totally fly out if I could. But I think it’s going to be a no for me.

To fly out to America would be over my budget. Anyway I’m on a super cool cycle tour right now.

Tonight I met another cycle tourer named Lilia from london. She is the first tourer I have met on this trip. We hung out at a picnic table on the cycle section of the campsite.

Wine and conversation flowed as the stars shimmered over head. Lilia is on a 1 month long trip around France πŸ‡«πŸ‡· on her bicycle. It was fun to socialise and have company.

I’ve been aiming for a campsite ⛺️ each night. My original plan was to wild camp but the shower at the end of the day in a proper campsite is priceless. Tonight’s campsite cost €6.

Today was hot πŸ₯΅ all the skin that was showing today is now tanned and the skin under my shorts is not so tanned, I’m two toned.

I had two cool conversations today. One with a 70 year old marathon runner who gave me water from his home and a guy at a bar talked about his job of building homes prepared for an earth 🌍 disaster.

I’m falling asleep 😴 goodnight
