Life lessons in Running

Yesterday was a pretty awesome day! I took a run up the Caffeine Trail to reach Homong Village. I decided against having a second coffee at Chong Wa’s and opted for a Poceri electrolyte drink instead.

On the way up the trail, my father’s voice entered my mind. He passed away last year, and until now, I never realized what a strong man he was. In my mind, he told me, “Kristian, go set a speed record on the Appalachian Trail.”

All these years, I thought physical strength meant overall strength. As I grow older and my hair turns greyer, I realize now that physical strength combined with mental strength is true strength.

Descending the trail, I listened to Zach Bryan. I’ve been listening to a lot of hip-hop lately, so it was nice to get back in touch with country music.

I had chicken for breakfast, chicken for lunch, and duck for dinner. Throughout the day, I ate about a kilo of rambutan.

On the way to @looperswimmingpool, I passed a random shop and saw red hairy rambutan fruit on the table. I turned around and went back to the shop, bought 3 kg, and ended up eating a good 25% of my purchase at the table!
