Cycling across France to Denia in Spain. today was an interesting day for many reasons. Arriving on French soil I was surprised to pass a lot of refugees with make do homes close to the port. They had used tarpaulin and rope to build themselves temporary housing.

Next was the realisation that I have 1000 miles ahead of me till I get to my destination. But there’s no pressure here having just ran 2000 mi.² through the mountains on trails, cycling 1000 miles on Road will be easy. After almost only 20 miles I decided to call it a day and stop at the first campsite.

It was really nice to set up my tent for the first time and sit relaxing on my chair. I asked the couple next door for a cup of wine and they obliged. Then I ate my real Turmat meal @basecampfood and I’m now about to turn in for the night. Tomorrow I will wake up early and try to ride 50 miles.
