Recover after 2000 mike run

Learn how I recovered after a 2000 mile run πŸƒβ€β™‚οΈ in the Appalachian Mountains ⛰️

πŸ‘‚ 1. Firstly, the most important I listened to my body and did not follow any preplanned schedule to get back into training.

πŸŠβ€β™‚οΈ 2. The first activity I did was swimming, this allowed my body to move freely without any impact.

πŸ§˜β€β™€οΈ 3. The second activity I introduced was Yoga. Stretching my muscles allowed me to achieve full range of movement again.

πŸ” 4. Plenty of eating. Even though I typically ate about 6-7000 cal per day on the Appalachian Trail, my body fat still came down to less than 4%. So I ate what I wanted when I wanted.

πŸ‹οΈβ€β™‚οΈ 5. Regular strength training going through a full range of motion with light weight and high reps.

πŸ₯Ύ 6. Hiking slowly through the mountains taking my time to appreciate my surroundings.

πŸƒβ€β™‚οΈ 7. Initially 3 x 1 mile runs followed by 30 minutes then 40 minutes. Using a very easy pace on a running track.

That’s pretty much it. I now feel recovered after the Appalachian Trail. I’ve entered a @utmbworldseries 50k πŸ₯‡ event in Chiang Mai also the Thailand North Face 100k πŸ₯‡ . I’m excited to begin ramping up my training and rediscovering my fitness.
