I feel like keeping this Journal is a nice practice to uphold. It shares my story with family and friends and also in the future will allow me to look back and relive this pilgrimage.
Speaking of pilgrimages I’m actually staying with the Padrinos at a hostel of the Camino de Santiago. The Camino de Santiago is a place which Pilgrims Walk to from all over the world. Look it up.
I feel I’ve mastered the mountains on my bike. I left the German couple and Italian behind this morning as my pace was a little faster and wanted to be with my own rhythm.
We joked around before we left taking photos of each other and Renzo was funny with his GoPro and his helmet pointing at people.
The day started with one hour 20 minute climb but it was worth every rotation of my pedals as when I get to the top the descent Was like flying Over the landscape as if I had wings.
I stopped in a small town and had some local Spanish sausage and then continued my journey. I made sure to keep on topping up my water at fountains and stayed hydrated by drinking.
I never saw the others again. They were going to a pre-booked hotel in the town of Pamplona where in July bulls run round the town chasing young men who are daring enough.
I decided to carry on and veered off the Europe one cycling route to smaller country roads.
And so this is how I found the apostle Hostel for the Camino de Santiago pilgrims. The feeling has a place of peace.
I’ve taken the rain fly off my tent and I sit here with a sky as my ceiling. Dinner was absolutely disastrous. I paid €15 for some nasty stuff from the kitchen here. But it was worth it for the feeling of peacefulNess.
